We are looking for a Security Engineer for our client, the Ministry of Defence, to make a direct impact on the security of global military missions. In this role, you will work on highly classified systems crucial for command and information exchange. You will contribute to strengthening, optimising and updating a globally deployable infrastructure.

What will you do?

  • Monitoren van security-bulletins en meldingen vanuit o.a. DCSC en NCSC.
  • Verzamelen, testen en vrijgeven van security-updates voor Windows-, Linux- en overige software binnen het HGI Baseline- en Titaan-platform.
  • Bieden van snelle ad-hoc oplossingen voor urgente beveiligingsincidenten.
  • Adviseren van ontwikkelteams over patchmanagement en security-richtlijnen.
  • Ontwikkelen en verbeteren van een betrouwbaar update-uitrolmechanisme voor productieomgevingen.
  • Signaleren en oplossen van kwetsbaarheden en bijdragen aan structurele verbetering van updateprocessen.
  • Samenwerken met Missie Teams om veilige implementaties en efficiënte update-uitrol te ondersteunen.
  • Versterken van samenwerking en alignment binnen het IT Security-team.

Context and objective

  • Werken binnen HGI-SO: verantwoordelijk voor hoog gerubriceerde, wereldwijde militaire netwerkinfrastructuur.
  • Direct bijdragen aan veilige, actuele en betrouwbare systemen voor militaire commandovoering.
  • Kwetsbaarheden reduceren en beveiligingsprocessen structureel verbeteren.
  • Versnellen en optimaliseren van patch- en updateprocessen in complexe operationele omgevingen.
  • Ondersteunen van teams om kwaliteit, voorspelbaarheid en leverbetrouwbaarheid te verhogen.
  • Meewerken aan de modernisering van HGI (“verbouwen met de winkel open”).
  • Borgen dat netwerken wereldwijd robuust, flexibel en inzetbaar blijven onder alle omstandigheden.
  • Continu blijven aanpassen van systemen aan nieuwe technologie, eisen en conceptuele ontwikkelingen.

Job requirements

  • Ervaring met ontwikkelen en leveren van snelle ad-hoc oplossingen voor urgente beveiligingskwesties.
  • Kennis en ervaring met het beheren van complexe IT-infrastructuren.
  • MCSE (Microsoft Cerified System Engineer).
  • VCP (Vmware Certified professional).
  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
  • Je bent in het bezit van een HBO-diploma.
  • 3 jaar werkervaring met het werken in en aan hooggerubriceerde omgevingen (werken aan beveiligde informatievoorzieningen).
  • 3 jaar werkervaring met netwerk infrastructuren (AD-services, DNS, DHCP, FTP/SFTP, Firewall).
  • 3 jaar werkervaring met Linux en dan specifiek met CentOS en Redhat 8 distributies.
  • 3 jaar kennis en werkervaring met virtualisatie met name Nutanix en VMware vSphere 6.5, 6.7 en 8.

Wishes

  • Werkervaring met Defensie Netwerken.
  • Werkervaring met Titaan.
  • Werkervaring met Defensie Hoog Gerubriceerd Informatiesystemen.

Ministry of Defence

  • Deployments to Defence are usually for longer periods (1 to 4 years maximum). This position requires a B-screening with an average duration of 6-8 weeks.
  • When offering a candidate, completion of the offer form is mandatory. This also asks you to explain the requirements and wishes + include a reference to the CV.

Specific to suppliers

When you offer a professional with us and they are placed, we need information from you as a contracting party. Among other things, with regard to the Wet Ketenaansprakelijkheid. The ‘WKA’ aims to prevent abuse in the payment of payroll taxes at all links in the chain; from supplier to end customer.

Broker parties cover these risks for their customers. To limit liability, measures need to be taken. So too by Hero. Important here is WAADI registration and use of a blocked account, the G account. This is the account into which only payroll taxes and VAT are deposited, which are then paid to the tax authorities. You can apply for the G account from the Tax and Customs Administration.
