You will join the client, a social childcare organisation, at a time when stability and development are badly needed. You bring calm and structure, create a quick overview and take the team along in the development towards a strong integrated childcare centre. Working closely with the regional manager, schools, parents and colleagues, you ensure that the locations are once again in a position to give children the best start every day.

Work
- Managing two locations (child centres) in Rotterdam region with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the teams.
- Quickly understand the situation at both sites and set priorities for the coming months.
- Being a visible presence in the workplace, being a point of contact for employees and creating a safe, open atmosphere.
- Work intensively with the regional manager to bring the teams along in the IKC/KC development.
- Build and develop relationships with primary schools, parents and other relevant partners in the neighbourhood.
- Ensuring clear communication, clear frameworks and decisiveness in a period of much change.
- Support, coach and encourage pedagogical staff in their professional development.
- Monitor quality, continuity and (basic) operations at the sites (planning, staffing, processes).
Context and objective
- At two child centres in the Rotterdam region, there are solid challenges around IKC-/KC-formation; a solid, interim leader is needed.
- The focus is on further shaping the cooperation between childcare and schools within the child centres.
- The site manager helps the area manager to also get the childcare team on board with this change.
- Important goal: to create calm, clarity and confidence so that teams can focus on children and quality.
- The role is temporary, but with a clear development mission: laying the foundation for a sustainably functioning IKC.
- You will work in a social, non-commercial organisation where the best interests of the child and the neighbourhood are the focus.
Job requirements
- HBO working and thinking level.
- Broad experience in a managerial role within childcare or (primary) education.
- Demonstrable experience in working with schools (e.g. in IKC/KC or broad-school constructions).
- Experience in managing and coaching (pedagogical) teams in a dynamic environment.
Wishes:
- Experience in IKC-/KC-formation or similar change processes between education and childcare.
- Strong in relationship management: investing in trust with team, school boards, parents and other partners.
- Able to still provide overview, structure and direction in a sometimes turbulent context.
- Someone who enjoys stepping in temporarily, making an impact quickly and then also being able to let go.
