For the Ministry of Defence, we are looking for a Defence IT Project Leader to lead a crucial sub-project within the FOXTROT programme. You will directly contribute to the modernisation of land-based IT and the strengthening of information-driven operations. You will work in an innovative, strategic environment where technology and operations come together. Do you want to make an impact on the future capability of our armed forces? What will you do?

  • Lead an independent subproject within FOXTROT Spiral 0 under COMMIT.
  • Draft, monitor and realise project plans (time, budget, scope - PTGC).
  • Managing and coaching multidisciplinary teams and creating productive collaboration.
  • Function as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Identify risks and bottlenecks and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Provision of reports, documentation and evaluations (‘lessons learned’).
  • Setting up consultation structures, decision-making and working groups.
  • Intensive coordination with Defence organisations (JIVC, Army, procurement, logistics & maintenance) and external suppliers/partners.

Context and objective

  • Be part of Project FOXTROT Spiral 0 - a strategic programme transforming Defence into information-driven operations.
  • Responsible for a sub-project contributing to modernisation of Land-based IT.
  • Realise a new, robust and modernised transmission infrastructure for 44BTG.
  • Renew vehicle C4I infrastructure within the unit.
  • Launch and further development of the Core software driving the transmission infrastructure.
  • Preparing users and conservation chains for the new modern way of working.
  • Contribute to optimal C2 support to make 44BTG more decisive and flexible.
  • Working within a defence-wide change programme that balances innovation, continuity and renewal.
  • This call was published for an already incumbent candidate.

Job requirements

  • 3 years' experience managing IT projects within the government.
  • 3 years' experience managing and operating in a Safe environment.
  • You have a completed college education.
  • Training completed in the field of enterprise application architecture.
  • You hold a Prince 2 foundations certificate.
  • Certified SAFe 6 Agilist.
  • 5 years' work experience as a Project Manager within the government.
  • 3 years' work experience in leading and managing technically complex IT projects.
  • 2 years' work experience in independent tendering, procurement processes and conducting contract management with a financial size above €25M.

Wishes

  • Broad familiarity with the structure and modus operandi of the Defence organisation, the administrative staff and Defence governance within the Land domain in relation to C4I projects.
  • Work experience or affinity with the military operational domain.
  • 3 years' work experience as a Project Manager within the Ministry of Defence.

Ministry of Defence

  • Deployments to Defence are usually for longer periods (1 to 4 years maximum). This position requires a B-screening with an average duration of 6-8 weeks.
  • When offering a candidate, completion of the offer form is mandatory. This also asks you to explain the requirements and wishes + include a reference to the CV.

Specific to suppliers

When you offer a professional with us and they are placed, we need information from you as a contracting party. Among other things, with regard to the Wet Ketenaansprakelijkheid. The ‘WKA’ aims to prevent abuse in the payment of payroll taxes at all links in the chain; from supplier to end customer.

Broker parties cover these risks for their customers. To limit liability, measures need to be taken. So too by Hero. Important here is WAADI registration and use of a blocked account, the G account. This is the account into which only payroll taxes and VAT are deposited, which are then paid to the tax authorities. You can apply for the G account from the Tax and Customs Administration.
