For our client, the Ministry of Defence, we are looking for an Information Management Advisor to support a high-impact role within an international military headquarters environment. In this position, you will operate at a strategic level, advising senior stakeholders and shaping Information Management processes that enable effective planning, exercises, and operations. You will contribute directly to improving information flow, governance, and coordination across complex CIS and HQ environments. This assignment offers the opportunity to work at the heart of defence operations where Information Management is a critical enabler for decision-making and mission success.

What are you going to do?

  • Advise senior leadership within the G6 Branch on Information Management (IM) topics
  • Plan and coordinate Information Management activities within the G6 environment
  • Coordinate information-sharing processes and planning cycles within G6
  • Act as liaison between the G6 Branch and DOS/IM on Information Exchange Requirements (IER)
  • Improve information flow, governance, and control across CIS and HQ environments
  • Support planning and execution of exercises, missions, and planning groups
  • Develop conceptual Information Management approaches for current and future CIS and C2 needs
  • Contribute to IM and planning policy development within the G6 Branch

Context and Objective

  • The role operates within the G6 Branch of 1GNC Headquarters
  • Focus on Information Management as a critical enabler for command, control, and operations
  • Ensure effective information sharing aligned with NATO policies and CIS frameworks
  • Strengthen coherence between planning processes, exercises, and operational execution
  • Support HQ-level decision-making through structured and controlled information flows
  • Contribute to the development of future-oriented IM concepts for evolving operational needs
  • Enable cross-functional collaboration within the HQ environment
  • Position Information Management as a strategic capability within G6

Job requirements

  • Experience in executing information planning.
  • Knowledge of NATO planning processes and Command structure.
  • Strong English communicative skills in speech / writing.
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft SharePoint.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous NATO experience.
  • Proficiency in the German language.

Ministry of Defence

  • Deployments to Defence are usually for longer periods (1 to 4 years maximum). This position requires an A-screening process with an average duration of 10-12 weeks.
  • When offering a candidate, completion of the offer form is mandatory. This also asks you to explain the requirements and wishes + include a reference to the CV.

Specific to suppliers

When you offer a professional with us and they are placed, we need information from you as a contracting party. Among other things, with regard to the Wet Ketenaansprakelijkheid. The ‘WKA’ aims to prevent abuse in the payment of payroll taxes at all links in the chain; from supplier to end customer.

Broker parties cover these risks for their customers. To limit liability, measures need to be taken. So too by Hero. Important here is WAADI registration and use of a blocked account, the G account. This is the account into which only payroll taxes and VAT are deposited, which are then paid to the tax authorities. You can apply for the G account from the Tax and Customs Administration.
