In this role, you will operate at enterprise level, designing and safeguarding secure, interoperable network infrastructures that connect national and multinational Command & Control systems. You will work from Münster on strategically critical defence networks that directly support operational readiness and international cooperation. Work
What will you do?
- Act as the Enterprise Network Architect for static information domains at 1GNC Peacetime Locations (PTL), including deployed environments when required
- Design, implement and manage static network infrastructures from both hardware and software perspectives
- Provide architectural guidance to project teams during deployment and implementation of national and bi-/multinational systems
- Ensure interoperability, security compliance and risk mitigation within Functional Area Services (FAS)
- Plan, prepare and execute the provisioning and maintenance of interoperability between national and international (NATO) C2 information systems
- Coordinate closely with ICCW G6 Enterprise Lead Architecture, Münster Detachment (MSDet) and relevant staff branches
- Support continuity and operational readiness of enterprise networks from the 1GNC location in Münster
Context and Objective
- The role supports enterprise-level static network architecture within a NATO operational environment
- Focus is on interoperability between national and multinational (NATO) command and control systems
- The assignment contributes directly to secure, resilient and interoperable information domains
- Acts as a central architectural authority for planning and execution of network solutions
- Ensures alignment between operational needs, security standards and technical design
- Supports both peacetime locations and deployed operational domains
- The assignment is fully executed from 1GNC Münster, Germany
Job requirements
- Experience in IT-architecture.
- Working experience in a multi-national environment.
- Knowledge about or experience with NATO Networking Infrastructure and Digital Communication.
- You hold a certificate in ITIL Foundation.
- Experience with and courses completed for Functional Area Services (FAS) Operational Usage.
- You have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in English at level 3332.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of strategic and tactical communications networls (esp. NLD, DEU and NATO).
- Functional Area Services (FAS) Operational Usage Overview (ETOC Course ID: CCC-CI-37006).
- NATO Networking Infrastructure (ETOC Course ID: CCC-DC-32237).
- Digital Communication (JADL113) (ETOC Course ID: CCC-DC-22276).
- Working experience in military divisional or corps environment.
- Knowledge of NATO Functional Area Services and Federated Mission (FMN) requirements.
- NATO C4ISR Technology Orientation (ETOC Course ID: CCC-SM-22206).
- MS SharePoint User Training (ETOC Course ID: CCC-ET-32336).
- Certification in network architecture.
- University or bachelor degree in communications and/or information science.
- Proficiency in the German language.
- Experience in cloud computing.
- Experience in virtualisation technologies.
- Experience in firewall configuration and management.
- Working experience with Windows / Linux.
Ministry of Defence
- Deployments to Defence are usually for longer periods (1 to 4 years maximum). This position requires an A-screening process with an average duration of 10-12 weeks.

Specific to suppliers
When you offer a professional with us and they are placed, we need information from you as a contracting party. Among other things, with regard to the Wet Ketenaansprakelijkheid. The ‘WKA’ aims to prevent abuse in the payment of payroll taxes at all links in the chain; from supplier to end customer.
Broker parties cover these risks for their customers. To limit liability, measures need to be taken. So too by Hero. Important here is WAADI registration and use of a blocked account, the G account. This is the account into which only payroll taxes and VAT are deposited, which are then paid to the tax authorities. You can apply for the G account from the Tax and Customs Administration.
