In this role, you will work in a highly secure, international military environment where cybersecurity directly supports operational missions. You will be responsible for detecting, analysing and mitigating cyber threats within mission-critical systems. Work
What will you do?
- Detect and analyse cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities within a complex operational IT environment
- Proactively monitor, analyse and interpret log data, security events and threat intelligence
- Perform reactive analysis in case of escalations from analysts or senior SOC staff
- Assess the impact of security incidents and determine appropriate mitigation measures
- Initiate, coordinate and monitor mitigation actions to prevent or limit security risks
- Escalate security threats within the organisation and to external (international) security partners when required
- Document findings, decisions and applied solutions
- Support forensic and investigative activities related to cybersecurity incidents
Context and Objectives
- You will work for the Ministry of Defence in a highly secure, operational environment
- The assignment takes place within a multinational military headquarters
- The objective is to ensure continuous, secure and reliable IT and communication systems
- You support mission-critical operations by protecting information and systems against cyber threats
- The role contributes directly to operational readiness and information security
- You operate in close collaboration with international military and civilian stakeholders
- The assignment focuses on both prevention and response to cybersecurity incidents
Job requirements
- Proven working experience in a multi-national environment.
- Proven experience in working in a SOC (Security Operation Center).
- Proven experience in Security Information and Event Management.
- Proven experience in Cyber Incident Management.
- Experience/training/education with SIEM -LOGPoint, Elastic, Splunk.
- Experience with Incident handling – TheHive, Microsoft SCSM, Greenbone,Trellix EPO.
- Experience with Cyber Threat intell -MISP -Security Analytics.
- Proficient in English
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of communications and/or information networks is preferred.
- Experience with IT-Consulting.
- University or bachelor degree of Science.
- Experience with Business informatics.
- Certificate in EC-Council and ITIL.
- Experience with MS SharePoint.
- Proficiency in the German language.
- Knowledge about setting up a incident handling process for an area with inceased security requirments.
Ministry of Defence
- Deployments to Defence are usually for longer periods (1 to 4 years maximum). This position requires an A-screening process with an average duration of 10-12 weeks.
- When offering a candidate, completion of the offer form is mandatory. This also asks you to explain the requirements and wishes + include a reference to the CV.
Specific to suppliers
When you offer a professional with us and they are placed, we need information from you as a contracting party. Among other things, with regard to the Wet Ketenaansprakelijkheid. The ‘WKA’ aims to prevent abuse in the payment of payroll taxes at all links in the chain; from supplier to end customer.
Broker parties cover these risks for their customers. To limit liability, measures need to be taken. So too by Hero. Important here is WAADI registration and use of a blocked account, the G account. This is the account into which only payroll taxes and VAT are deposited, which are then paid to the tax authorities. You can apply for the G account from the Tax and Customs Administration.
