For a client in the Amsterdam region, we are looking for an experienced Financial Specialist to take the lead in the creation of reliable financial figures and documents. You coordinate the annual accounts, budget and spring memorandum and are a solid sparring partner for colleagues within finance and control. Do you enjoy working at the interface of content, quality and process? Then this is an interesting temporary assignment for you.

Work

  • Coordinate the financial part of the Planning & Control documents.
  • Direct the creation of the budget, spring note and statement of finances.
  • Review and monitor the quality of delivered documents.
  • Further develop and implement quality standards within the department.
  • Advising on complex financial issues, such as implementation of BBV guidelines.
  • Participate in projects or working groups on financial process improvement.
  • Keeping abreast of relevant laws and regulations and translating them into internal processes.

Context and objective

  • The assignment will take place within the Finance Department, consisting of around 35 employees divided into three teams.
  • You will be part of the Financial Specialists team (7 colleagues) with a strong subject-matter focus and collegial cooperation.
  • Goal: timely and high-quality delivery of financial P&C documents and further professionalisation of the team.
  • Collaboration with Business Control, Strategy & Direction and Audit

Job requirements

  • Completed college education in a relevant field, such as Business Economics or Accountancy.
  • Proven experience in coordinating Planning & Control documents within a municipal organisation.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Budget and Accountability Decree (BBV).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to both coordinate and advise at a professional level.

Wishes

  • Experience with municipal financial systems and reporting.
  • Familiarity with audit and quality processes within the public sector.
  • Proactive and connecting working style, with an eye for both process and content.
