What will you do?
- Conduct a market survey on suitable models governance registers/tools (including commercial options).
- Support decision-making on the choice of a design register.
- Mapping processes and information needs around model development and use at various defence units.
- Translate needs into epics, features and user stories.
- Drafting and clarifying functional and (non-)functional requirements.
- Supervise the set-up, implementation and defence-wide roll-out of the chosen model register.

Context and objective
- Defence is increasingly deploying data-driven models in critical task operations.
- These models must comply with ethical, legal and quality frameworks (such as the AI regulation).
- A user-friendly, centralised tool to record and support model development, management and use is currently lacking.
- A central model register should ensure transparency, accountability, better decision-making and oversight.
- The KMar's DevOps department has developed an existing prototype that could be used more widely.
- The business analyst examines whether this prototype, or a commercial solution, is the best choice for Defence-wide use.
- The chosen model register should then be set up, implemented and adopted within all defence units.
- Collaboration takes place within the context of CIO Office, Chief Data Officer and Royal Military Police (KMar).
Job requirements
- 2 years' work experience in the role of business analyst within the IV/IT domain.
- You have a command of the Dutch and English language both verbally and in writing (Level B2).
- 2 years of working experience with process, information, data and business analysis methodologies.
- 2 years' working experience in stakeholder management and is organisation-sensitive.
Wishes
- 2 years' knowledge of IT architecture principles.
- 2 years' knowledge of privacy regulations (AVG, WPG) and information security.
- 3 years' experience in data analysis, data-science and model development processes.
- 1 year familiar with the requirements from the AI regulation and/or the national algorithm framework.
Ministry of Defence
- Deployments to Defence are usually for longer periods (1 to 4 years maximum). This position requires a B-screening with an average duration of 6-8 weeks.
- When offering a candidate, completion of the offer form is mandatory. This also asks you to explain the requirements and wishes + include a reference to the CV.
Specific to suppliers
When you offer a professional with us and they are placed, we need information from you as a contracting party. Among other things, with regard to the Wet Ketenaansprakelijkheid. The ‘WKA’ aims to prevent abuse in the payment of payroll taxes at all links in the chain; from supplier to end customer.
Broker parties cover these risks for their customers. To limit liability, measures need to be taken. So too by Hero. Important here is WAADI registration and use of a blocked account, the G account. This is the account into which only payroll taxes and VAT are deposited, which are then paid to the tax authorities. You can apply for the G account from the Tax and Customs Administration.
If you have any questions about this, you can always call us on 085-222 1996 or email us at defensie@hero.eu.
